dinner date

The hubby and I are going out for dinner at a pretty casual Mexican restaurant shortly so I thought I'd get ready a bit early and take some photos before it gets dark (I love spring!). Looking at these now on my iMac, I think I'll tuck in the shirt a bit before we head out.

cottage bound!

We are heading up to the cottage shortly to start opening it for the season. I couldn't be more excited!!! I love that place and have missed it dearly over the winter. My husbands not sure if we can get the propane fireplace started up so we aren't spending the night. No heat plus a baby is no bueno!

(I'm in a rush so I used PicMonkeys auto-adjust on these pics...won't be doing that again...too contrast heavy! And I am now aware that the girls look massive in this shirt.)

friday at the office

It's Friday of a 3 day work week for me (YAY!) so I thought one of my favourite (and oldest) sweaters was appropriate - especially when it's like a rainbow! I bought it years ago during my Club Monaco stock-chick days and I only wear it a couple times a year so it can last be almost forever. I have to say that of all the clothes I've purchased over the years, the stuff I picked up at Club Monaco sticks around in my closet the longest. I find their stuff to be fairly classic like Banana Republic but often with way more of an edge. Anyhoo, the sweater is too short for my no-hipped, bit-of-a-gut-cause-i-don't-know-what-a-gym-is self so for these pics I threw on a Club Monaco coat (coincidentally) I have also had since my Club days. I remember shopping in Montreal and spotting this coat at one of their huge stores there and freaking out because it was such a gorgeous colour, then I begged the manager to let me have it at 50% off - we got 50% off CM clothes that we could wear to work - because I convinced him I would wear it as a "blazer". Smart me. I keep it at the office since I walk to work in an ugly-ass, falling apart wind breaker so I can walk to get a coffee without looking like a complete tool.

moccasin drama

I finally got around to making a decision on a spring bag. I went with the orange one from Little Burgundy. While looking around the site, I decided to order a pair of Minnetonka Moccasin's. They are going to be perfect  for the cold mornings and evenings up at the cottage. I really wish more people would write reviews on products, or that stores would encourage customers to do so by way of a discount on their next purchase. Had there been reviews, I would have known to order a size down, but instead arrived a pair of 7's that are massive. So I ordered a size 6, and Kim was kind enough to pick out a scarf she wanted so I'd get free shipping. So the 6 arrived, and I was completely disgusted because they'd been worn. They have fur inside, and the fur was formed and dirty from someones nasty feet. I hate feet. Anyway, I called the company, and the girl wasn't surprised, nor apologetic. She did place an order for another pair, with free shipping and 15% off. But now I'm stuck with two friggin' pairs of moccasins, and return shipping labels for UPS. Now I'm off to figure out  how to arrange shipping. So very annoying.
(Also, two weeks later, Kim's scarf hadn't arrived so I cancelled it. I'm not likely to be ordering from Little Burgundy again)

thursday at the office

My mom got me this sweater for Christmas and admittedly this is the first time I've worn it. It's a very strange cardigan that can apparently be worn 5 ways. I'm not sure I like the way I chose because it seems to make me look preggers but regardless, the colours are pretty, and it gave me an excuse to wear my  neon pumps to work. Which I must admit I changed out of for a meeting with our ADM to discuss the job cuts in our department as I figured neon pumps were not exactly appropriate for such an event.

i'm not this big

Nothing can add 10 pounds quite like this sweater. Maybe that's why I've worn it exactly twice all winter (the other time here). I think it'll be making its way to the give away pile. And this folks, is why I buy cheap clothes. I get bored, or decide I don't like it, or get stains on it etc etc etc.

Gia wanted in on today's photo shoot action. Isn't she just the cutest! It's hard to get decent pics of the lil one as she's always running for the camera and yelling "cheese".

wednesday at the office

My sister wasn't at work today so I was left to fend for myself with my camera in my ugly office....in a less than ideal outfit. Ideally I would have worn this Victorian-esque velvet pouffy shouldered blazer with my ripped Zara bf jeans and my neon pumps but that would be a liiiiiiittle too much for work. (P.S. Last night I cut off the bit of crinoline at the top of the shoulders because they poofed a bit too much for my liking. Made me look like a football player.) So here you go despite me not digging these.
